Dear Summer 2026

There is something about the end of summer that always makes me reflective. Maybe it's because summer naturally feels like a pause for me. My schedule slows down, I have more time to myself, and for once, I don't feel like I'm constantly rushing from one responsibility to the next. As much as the school year may be busy, it's the summers for me that made me realize a little extra space is much needed. And every summer, I find myself thinking about the same thing....where am I now, and where am I going next?

We put a lot of emphasis on January 1st as the time when we're supposed to evaluate our lives, set goals, make changes, and decide who we're going to be in the new year. I've never really felt like January was the only time for that. For me, the changing of seasons has always felt like its own kind of reset.

This summer has been filled with new experiences, a lot of laughter, a lot of family and friend time and a new exciting new chapter for my family. This summer has been filled living intentionally, a lot of happy hours and random stories that only belong in the group chat. This summer gave me an opportunity to slow down and actually sit with myself and evaluating what I want the next chapter of my life to look like.

As I prepare to go back to school and back to work (entering my 10th year whoop whoop), I'm carrying a lot of thoughts from this summer with me. I don't have every answer, and I don't think I'm supposed to. But I do feel like I've had an opportunity to pause long enough to be more intentional about what comes next for Kellee.

That's really what I want to take from this season.

Not pressure to have everything figured out, but the willingness to keep asking myself what I want, what I need, and what I'm working toward.

Maybe this season change can be your opportunity to check in with yourself.

How are you doing?

Are you happy with where you are?

What still needs your attention?

What are you proud of?

Sometimes reflection is simply about acknowledging where you are and giving yourself the space to think about where you want to go.

So, as we move into this next season, I hope you give yourself permission to pause too. You don't have to wait until January to check in with yourself. You don't have to wait for a new year to make a new decision.

There is still time.

Summer 2026, thank you!
