Dear Younger Me, You Were Worried For Nothing

Dear Younger Me,

Hey Kellee! It's me, your older self. I know you think life is supposed to look a little differently. You are looking around and comparing yourself self with others. You worry about making good choices, you have questions of success, stability, family and everything in between. The things you are worrying about won't even matter the way you think they do. The pressure you feel to "have it all figured out", listen...no one has it all figured out. That's not really how life works.

You do accomplish things you once prayed for. You become someone you would be super proud of. And the most beautiful part? The life you create didn't come from rushing. It comes from becoming. So, stop obsessing over things and ideas that you have no control over. Love is not something you need to worry about, the most important person you love is yourself (confidently and fully). You do not need to force connections because society said you should be settled by now. Build yourself. Learn yourself. Enjoy yourself and if life unfolds differently than you imagined, it can STILL be meaningful and beautiful.

You waste precious years when you make your entire life about what hasn't happened yet. Life is happening now, girl you are IN IT! Enjoy the quiet mornings. Enjoy making memories with your family and friends. Enjoy taking solo trips. Stay longer at dinner. Ask more questions. Enjoy the season of healing. The learned lessons. The rebuilding. The becoming. Say yes to new experiences, Write the blog (go girl!), wear the outfit, take the pictures and travel as much as you can.

One of the sweetest surprises waiting for you?

You'll have a nephew who is smart, funny, amazing and full of light. He will bring joy into your life in ways you cannot even fathom. He will make you laugh, make you proud, and reminds you that love comes in unexpected ways.

There are blessings coming that you don't even know to pray for yet.

There will come a day when you realize the things you thought delayed you were actually developing you. You will stop worrying about, "Why is this happening this way?" and you will start saying, "Thank God it happened this way". So slow down. Life isn't a race and there is no trophy for rushing through your own journey. Be intentional. Be bold enough to enjoy your life while it is still unfolding.

You are not late.

You are on your way.

Love,

Your Older Self

** If you wrote a letter to your younger self today, what would you say? Sometimes we need to realize we're already living the life we once worried we'd never have**
